We are extremely pleased to announce that following the inspection of our site between 9th and 11th May 2016, James Douglas Limited has been recommended for certification against the international standard for Cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practices ISO 22716:2007. Managing Director, Mike Hawkes commented that, “our customers already recognise the unique specialist knowledge and experience JDL offers in the production of cosmetic pads – now they also have the added reassurance of knowing that our manufacturing facility has achieved certification against the internationally recognised standard for cosmetics manufacturing.”
All cosmetics products sold in the EU must comply with the Regulation EC 1223/2009 and this regulation requires that all cosmetic products are manufactured according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). GMP ensures that cosmetic products on the market are prepared in a way that is both safe & clean. The International Standard Organisation (ISO) defines the manufacturing requirements in their document, “Cosmetics – Guidelines on Good Manufacturing Practices ISO 22716:2007” and cosmetic manufacturers are required to show that their own system achieves the same objective as that stated in the ISO guideline.
At James Douglas Limited we are committed to being the perfect pad production partner for leading cosmetic & beauty brands. In addition to offering the right fabrics in the right pad sizes, our customers need to know that we are manufacturing their cosmetic pads according to the right quality standards. Good manufacturing practices have always been standard procedure at our facility in Hertford (UK) – we thought that now was the right time to demonstrate our compliance by gaining external accreditation.
