James Douglas Limited awarded internationally recognised standard for Cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practices ISO 22716:2007

Managing Director, Mike Hawkes is pleased to announce that James Douglas Limited has received certification against the internationally recognised standard ISO 22716:2007 for Cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practices.

After receiving this prestigious certification, Mike commented, ‘Good manufacturing practices have always been standard procedure at our facility in Hertford (UK) – we are pleased to have now gained external accreditation.’

All cosmetics products sold in the EU must comply with the Regulation EC 1223/2009 and this regulation requires that all cosmetic products are manufactured in accordance with Cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP). CGMP ensures that cosmetic products on the market are prepared in a way that is both safe & hygienic. The International Standard Organisation (ISO) defines the requirements in their document, “Cosmetics – Guidelines on Good Manufacturing Practices ISO 22716:2007? and cosmetic manufacturers are required to show that their own systems achieve the same standards as those stated in the ISO guideline.
